Potato salad, mac and cheese, crunchy coleslaw paired with pork barbecue—is Southern food mostly German food? Justin Robinson, a Grammy Award-winning musician and intensely curious Black ethnobotanist takes audiences on an immersive culinary journey through conflicting ideas of history, genealogy, health, and the violent legacies of this comfort cuisine.

This hybrid doc experience aims to connect Southern audiences with multifaceted, shared histories through the lens of food, particularly at a moment when uncomfortable histories are facing erasure out of fear for the power they hold. We are in the development phase and seeking major donors, organizational partners and investors to sponsor events to further workshop and reach people hungry for stories that nourish a bolder sense of self and support healthy community.
